J&J RECEIVES COMMUNITY PRIDE AWARD
(DALTON) Keep Dalton/Whitfield Beautiful recently presented J&J Industries with a Community Pride award (Corporate Neighbor Division) for its participation in the 4th Annual Conasauga River Fall Clean Up. The award recognized J&J for its public education programs and activities that promote waste reduction and beautification through programs like the Conasauga River Clean Up and the Adopt-a-Mile program.
The award-winning project took place on October 14, 2000, with six associates participating. Because the clean-up site was close to a small area of houses near J&J’s campus, J&J associates dedicated time to inform the nearby residents about the project and request their participation in the clean-up. Several children and adults participated in the project and learned about the importance of environmental responsibility while taking an active part in the Conasauga River Clean Up.
Howard Elder, J&J Industries director of research and environmental affairs, said, "Our company is committed to positive environmental action and I am pleased to accept this award on our associates’ behalf."
