OUR HERITAGE J&J Industries celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007. Our lineage has been defined by innovation and integrity as demonstrated by the following substantial milestones.

1957
J. Rollins Jolly and Thomas R. Jones form J&J Rugs. The company begins with 15 employees. Rugs and candy-striped carpet are the sole products for the first few years.

1967
J&J Rugs recharters as J&J Industries and focuses on manufacturing only commercial carpet.

1968
J&J Industries introduces the Commercialon brand.

1970
J&J expands 5 plants and increases production by 500%.

1973
J&J breaks ground for new 110,000 sq. ft. plant and office facilities.

1977
J&J launches Commercialon 4400, the industry's first 1/8 gauge cut pile.

1981
J&J becomes one of the first mills to extrude its own polypropylene fiber, Praxis.

1991
J&J Industries introduces Commercialon SDN as one of the first carpet manufacturers to extrude nylon fiber.

1991
J&J launches the Green Team, an organized group of employees focused on sustainable processes.

1994
J&J acquires Invision Carpet Systems.

1995
The addition of a new yarn processing facility plays an integral part in establishing J&J Industries as a vertical carpet manufacturer.

1999
J&J Industries officially launches EnAct©, a corporate environmental action initiative. J&J's extruded nylon, branded Encore© SD Ultima©, now contains a minimum of 15% recycled nylon.

2000
The 10th building phase begins, creating a total of 20 acres of manufacturing facilities and office space under roof.

2003
J&J Commercial and Invision Carpet Systems, two of the industry's most specified carpet brands, combines sales teams to become J+J/Invision - a single source solution in the commercial carpet industry.

2003
J&J Industries develops a 20-acre section of the campus as a U.S. Nature Wetland Conservancy to filter and purify storm water run-off. Upon development, the wetland is donated to the City of Dalton for the community to enjoy.

2004
J&J Industries launches a new line of modular carpet tile with Nexus™ vinyl backing.

2007
J&J Industries becomes co-owner of the newly formed Modular Carpet Systems, LLC. Modular Carpet Systems, LLC manufactures and applies modular carpet backing which allows J&J to continue expanding our modular carpet offerings.

2007
J&J Industries celebrates its 50th anniversary.

2008
J&J opens its first International Showroom in London's Clerkenwell design district.

2008
J&J named Best Places to Work in Georgia by Georgia Trend Magazine.

2009
J&J is awarded Georgia Family Business of the Year by Cox Family Enterprise Center at Kennesaw State University and Georgia Trend Magazine.

2009
J&J introduces eKo modular backing, a pvc-free backing that contains recycled content and provides closed-loop recyclability.

2010
J&J receives the 2009 GSA Evergreen Award - furnishings category.

2010
J&J acquires Templeton Hospitality Carpet and rebrands as J+J/Templeton.
